5 Posh Localities In Pune Central

July 19, 2016   |   Sunita Mishra

You will hardly be surprised to know that you could buy a much larger apartment in a posh area of Pune for the amount you have to pay for a much smaller flat in a decent locality in Mumbai. For instance, property prices in Pune's Deccan Gymkhana, a premium central locality stand at Rs 12,981 per sq ft, while property in Dadar West (Mumbai) , a central shopping hub, is priced at Rs 25,081 per sq ft. This is just double the amount, for localities that provide similar facilities.

So, if you have the money in hand and want to have an apartment in central Pune, here is a list of five posh localities in Pune that are still more affordable than posh areas in Mumbai or national capital Delhi.

Sangamwadi

As it stands today, Sangamwadi is one of the most expensive localities in Pune. However, the price — average property prices here stood at Rs 18,116 per sq ft in June 2016 — is only fitting for a locality that offers you the best Pune has to offer as a city. Until December 2015, prices here stood at Rs 19,000 per sq ft.

Shukrawar Peth

One of the oldest areas of Pune, Shukrawar Peth provides you a great connectivity through the Sangamwadi Road. As this locality is relatively away from the centre, residential projects in Shukrawar Peth are much bigger than those in other central localities. (You can find apartment between 550 sq ft to 5,240 sq ft.) The average property price in Shukrawar Peth stood at Rs 17,000 per sq ft in June 2016.

Ashok Nagar

A popular locality with projects by India's top real estate developers, Ashok Nagar is a home buyer's dream. And, making this dream come true is comparatively cheap now. Since 2013, prices in this premium locality have seen a downtrend. While in July 2013, prices stood at Rs 16,000 per sq ft, property in Ashok Nagar was priced at Rs 15,720 per sq ft in June 2016.

Shivaji Nagar

This central locality is home to many government offices, including the city court, and educational institutes, and it boasts a railway station by the same name. Dotted with residential constructions by top developers of the region, Shivaji Nagar, too, has witnessed a dip in property prices. Average property prices in Shivaji Nagar stood at Rs 15,661 per sq ft in June 2016.

Koregaon Park

Having Koregaon Park for your residential address is something to be proud of. A locality that provides you a well-developed social and commercial set-up in lush green surroundings, Korgaon Park is a favourite with the city's wealthy. For a locality that has the main railway station lying only three km and the international airport six km away, property in Koregaon Park is still affordable. The per sq ft property price here is Rs 15,284.
