Ancient architectural sciences have become a defining feature of modern buildings. Old practices Indian Vastu and Chinese Feng Shui could be listed as the perfect example of that. Both the arts talk about maintaining a balance between humans and their surroundings by constructing buildings in a certain manner.

The practitioners of Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese mystic science which originated a few thousand years ago, are of the belief that by following certain rules humans could live in perfect harmony with their surroundings. One of the five arts of Chinese Metaphysics, the mystic science of Feng Shui can be translated to wind-water in English, and talks in detail about the invisible forces that bind humans with the universe.

Often termed as a pseudoscience for there are is no scientific backing to the claims of Feng Shui, the ancient art has gained huge popularity across the world. The popularity of Feng Shui is evident from the fact that US President-elect and owner of Trump Organization Donald Trump is among the avid follower of the practice. Reportedly, former US President Bill Clinton implemented Feng Shui rules during his stay at the White House. Real estate developers in India have also been focusing on building Feng Shui-compliant homes, which are quite popular among buyers.
