Inspired by the works of renowned Russian poet Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky, the Mayakovskaya station is polished in warm hues of pink and white. The generous use of marble, mosaic and rhodonite gives it a sophisticated look and feel. This metro station in Moscow was also a refuge for Russians during an air attack in the Second World War.
