Buying Property In Ahmedabad Makes Perfect Sense. Here's Why

July 19 2017   |   Sunita Mishra

Many of us want the city where we would be spending our lives to be a perfect mix of a big city and a small town. It should be, for instance, clean and green like a small city. At the same time, it should also offer the luxuries of a big city — greater access to jobs, for instance. Houses in this city should be within your reach, but they should also be able to offer you world-class amenities. In case you are one of those who are looking for this perfect blend, Ahmedabad is the place for you. Given below are certain reasons that would convince you fully on that point.

  • The over 600-year-old walled city has recently received the distinction of being India's first World Heritage City. Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat which is booming with new developments while centuries-old heritage buildings stand tall, beat Delhi and Mumbai while competing for a nomination last year.
  • The Gujarat city, which is also a major commercial hub, is among the cleanest cities in the country. In the Centres' Swachh Survekshan 2017, Ahmedabad was ranked at the 14th place. The city's performance in this regard has also been consistent.
  • According to the National House Board data, property prices in Ahmedabad have remained largely stable in the past one year. While average rates stood at Rs 3,086 per square foot (sqft) in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2015-16 (FY16) , they moved to Rs 3,297 per sqft in the same quarter of FY17.

  • There is no lack of choices when you look at the configurations—from 1BHK units to large villas, you can get it all here. But, guess what? You could buy a villa in the city at an expense of Rs 15-24 lakh.
  • The top performing localities in the city include Ranip, Chandkheda, Chanakyapuri and Naryanpura. The ranking is based on the livability score of these localities. Ranip, for instance, has a livability score of 10, on a scale of 10.
