Chennai: The Cultural Capital of South India

Chennai, formerly known as Madras is the capital city of Tamil Nadu and the perfect gateway to Southern India. The city not only enjoys a rich heritage but it is also a bustling center of industrial as well as commercial development.

A look at the immense industrial development in Chennai, especially that brought in by several automakers (with almost 40% of them having plants here) will help you understand why it is considered to be the “Detroit of India”. This Cultural Capital of South India also features a variety of entertainment and shopping avenues as well as several reputed educational institutions.
