30 More Doorstep Delivery Services For Delhi Residents From Feb

January 17 2019   |   Surbhi Gupta

With an aim to bring governance to homes, the Delhi government in September last year had launched the doorstep delivery of 40 public services of seven departments. Now, from February 1, 30 more services will be added to this scheme.

While the complete list of new services will be announced later, it is expected to include the grant of a licence to a contractor under the labour department, the addition of members in ration card, change of address, transfer of ration cards within Delhi, et cetera.

Under the services that were launched in September, Delhiites could now get caste certificate, driving licence, birth certificate, marriage certificate, water connection services, among others at their doorstep. The government further plans to add 30-35 new services every 30 days from the day of the rollout until all services are covered. Apart from the standard fee that one has to pay to avail of these services, an additional Rs 50 will be charged for the home delivery.

For the implementation of this drive, the state government has hired a private company. There will be over 66 mobile facilitators or sahayaks that will cater to those looking for these services. Each district will have six mobile sahayaks who will be equipped with biometric devices and a camera. More mobile facilitators will be hired after assessing the demand and volume of requests.

Residents who want to avail of these services can call 1076 to place a request. While the call centre will operate round the clock, the services will be provided from 8 am to 10 pm. An executive will visit your place on a mutually fixed time to collect the required documents apart from doing your biometric authentication. A unique reference ID will be generated during the biometric authentication which the sahayak will use to submit the application. A receipt will be sent via SMS or email to the citizen. Through this citizen will be able to track the status of the application.
