Toys are a toddler’s best friend, and every home with children in it is full of a wide range of toys. However, when left unorganized, toys can lead to a lot of clutter in the household. One of the first impressions of an unorganized home include toys which are left unattended around the house. Therefore, it is important to keep those knickknacks and playthings in perfect order, thus keeping your home arranged while at the same time instilling the good habit of being organized among your kids as well.

Here, we bring to you some important interior design tips to help you store toys in an organized (and nifty!) manner. Follow these tips, which will help you reduce playroom clutter inside your home:

Know what you have: Before you start thinking of storage ideas for toys, you must take into account an inventory of the toys lying in the home. Taking a count of all the toys will help you in sorting them out and doing away with any surplus/obsolete toys. Having a list of toys will also help you to make proper space arrangements for storing them.

Decorate your kids’ room with toys: This is a great way to store toys while at the same time using them to beautify your home. Hanging trinkets and small toys in your children’s room will add to the existing décor, and you can even use blank walls to create display units out of board games.

Baskets and bins: These are the perfect way to store soft toys, dolls, puzzles and blocks and keep them all in one place. Little toys that are otherwise difficult to manage are best stored in such containers. What’s more, you can even paint these bins and baskets in attractive colours and add to their appeal.

Storage shelves for books: Utilizing open shelves around the house to place story books and comics like a newsstand is a good way to organize and sort your children’s literary treasures. You can even arrange them on glass shelves and make a little library out of it.

Space and utility: While creating storage spaces for toys, make sure that you place them correctly, so that they are easily accessible by children. Also, while creating storage spaces for toys, it is always a good idea to leave a little bit of extra space, as there will always be more toys coming in.
