Gurgaon Global City Project Will Infuse Growth With Innovation

Gurgaon has witnessed major infrastructural development over the past few years. With the announcement of the Gurgaon Global City Project by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recently, the move is likely to add fresh impetus to the city's overall development.

A joint venture between the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) , Gurgaon Global City Project is an early bird project on the DMIC's Gurgaon section.

The Narendra Modi government has envisioned to develop 800 acre of land which it got back from Reliance Haryana SEZ Ltd (RHSL) . It will be designed by sharply integrating community concepts, ranging from water supply to power and assimilating IT services to manage various utility areas therein. Several international architects will be hired to make it a world-class project.

  • The project would include festive and leisure components, including an exhibition and convention centre, high-value innovation and knowledge industries, central business district and townships etc.
  • The global city will be a high-technology infused area, which will have high innovation and knowledge industries.
  • The massive chunk of land would be developed as an independent industrial node, apart from provision for an exhibition-cum-convention centre.
  • The ambitious project is being planned to bring high-technology and industry together.

    The funds

    The Centre will provide funds for the project through the DMIC Trust, which has a corpus of Rs 17,500 crore to be utilised over five years.

  • The city would not only add to the economy of the state but also help in generating skilled development.
