Another feather was added to super luxury living in the Maximum City today with high street Italian couturier Giorgio Armani unveiling an exclusively designed apartment in the world's tallest residential building, which can all yours for a cool Rs 50 crore. Promoted by the Lodha Group, the Rs 2,000-crore World One project, coming up in Central Mumbai, is the world's tallest residential tower and will have apartments and villas designed by the Italian luxe designer, with a price range of Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 50 crore. Unveiling the first sample apartment here today, Lodha managing director Abhisheck Lodha said, "it is a privilege for us to partner with Armani/Casa for the interior design at The World Towers. We are committed to providing our customers with excellence in luxury living and we intend to ensure that every single element respects the best standards of quality and aesthetics." Giorgio Armani's interior design studio Armani/Casa, which also designed residences in Burj Khalifa in Dubai, will design the residences and common spaces of the Rs 2,000-crore World Towers project coming up in Upper Worli, Mumbai. The project, which is expected to be completed by 2014, comprises two towers--World One with 117 floors and the World Crest, which will be soaring over 700 ft. "The World One Towers is an all-encompassing undertaking that transforms our notions of architecture and technology, and is geared to create a new, highest-possible aesthetic experience. From furniture to the finishes, has been designed to provide intimacy and create a sense of relaxation," Armani/Casa managing director Fabrice Gouffran said. Lodha said bookings have already started and nearly 60 percent of the apartments have been sold till now. "Even though we talk about a slow down in demand in the real estate sector, we are receiving good response for the project," he said. The World One Towers, which will come up on the 17-acre plot of the defunct Shrinivas Mills at Lower Parel, which the Lodhas bought nearly five-years ago, will house three and four bedroom residences, lavish villas with private pools and some super-luxurious duplex flats. It will also have over five acres of landscaped area, including an 80,000 sq ft sports club at a height of 175 ft above ground and an observatory at a height of 1,000 ft or on the 99th floor. Once completed, the 117-storey tower will be close to a kilometre tall, dwarfing the present tallest residential tower, Queensland Number One, in Australia that has a height of 323 meter.
