MahaRERA: 150 Homebuyers File Complaint Against Residential Project On Mumbai's Mira Road

October 11, 2017   |   LawRato

Recently, over 150 aggrieved homebuyers registered a complaint with the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) against a real estate project on Mira Road. This project has been on hold since last four years.

According to the developer, the construction work has been stalled due to a dispute among the directors of the company, Kashmira Ceramics Products.

The project, Tanvi Eminence, was announced in 2010 with 500 apartments and were to be ready for possession by 2016-end. However, the grim reality is that the project has been on a hold since 2013 because of the differences among the directors.

The affected homebuyers have decided to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state chief secretary in order to take action against the developer. At present, only 150 homebuyers, of the 400 who have invested in the project, have lodged the complaint.

Homebuyers were promised possession by 2016, however, while registering the project under the RERA, the developer has mentioned the project completion date as 2021.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged with the Kashimira Police Station against the shareholders of the project namely Bhupatbhai Lukhi, Dayabhai Sutariya and Sangeeta Vijay Kumar.
