Make Way for the LIG /MIG Housing Schemes in Ghaziabad
After the launch of a residential plot scheme in Haryana by the HUDA government, Uttar Pradesh has now announced a residential housing scheme.
The UP government has launched two distinct housing schemes offering residential options in Ghaziabad. One of these housing schemes offers flats for the LIG and EWS category while the other is for the Middle Income Group (MIG) .

EWS/LIG Residential Flat Scheme- Marketed as a Diwali gift for the residents of Uttar Pradesh, the scheme invites applications for 1979 flats in developed areas of Ghaziabad for the economically weaker and low income group sections of the society. The authority is offering 990 EWS flats with a minimum area of 25 sq.ft. and 989 LIG flats with minimum area of 35 sq.ft. The cost of these flats is estimated to be Rs 3.9 lakhs and Rs 8.4 lakhs respectively. It is important to note that applications are invited through online mode only, starting 1st November, with registrations closing on the 30th November 2014. The draw for these flats is expected to be held within the next six months.

Important Note: These flats are constructed on an approved land parcel by private builders in developed areas of Ghaziabad but allotted through a draw mechanism by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) .
MIG/ Mini MIG Flats Scheme - Located on the NH 24 and in the heart of Indiarapuram, Nyay Khand-I, the MIG/Mini MIG Scheme offers 2BHK, 2BHK Deluxe, 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments in a multistoried building campus. You can file your application online for the same from 1st November to 30th November and the draw is expected to be held within the next six months.
If successful in the draw you need to deposit 20 percent of the flat cost within two months of the allotment and the remaining 80 percent is payable in the next three years in 12 quarterly installments with 12 percent interest.

As both these schemes are floated by government authorities, hence reservation for specific strata's of the society is applicable. In these cases 21, 2 and 27 percent of the total flats are reserved for Scheduled caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward classes respectively. In addition to this, a total of 15 percent of the offered flats is earmarked for defense and allied personnel's.
