MCHI to host property related seminar for NRIs
The Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry, or MCHI, will present 'India Happening': A Knowledge Event, a seminar for NRIs on issues related to Indian property on January 11, 2012 in Dubai.
Although MCHI is better known for the property events that it has consistently organised across the GCC Countries, among other Global venues, there is one important aspect it seeks to convey to NRIs: MCHI is not just an organisation that creates property exhibitions, said Paras Gundecha, president, MCHI.
“It is a representative body of developers, it is a association of developers which safeguards the interests of both, the developer as also the NRI home buyer. MCHI brings in the one factor that is very important to an NRI home seeker at an Indian property show: safety and security. In line with this, MCHI is reviving its 'Knowledge Series' with 'India happening', the Knowledge Event this January.”
At Indian real estate events across the world, expatriate Indian home seekers' priorities when it comes buying a home -- and this has been seen across the board -- is the safety aspect.
Bandish Ajmera, chairman, Exhibition Committee, MCHI said, “Of all the issues that worry an NRI home seeker, having a safe and secure experience while buying a home is paramount. To help them feel safe and secure while buying Indian property, one of the biggest 'safety factors' is an expert's opinion, which helps the NRI be knowledgeable about the various issues relating to property which create worries and doubts.”
“The Knowledge Event, 'India Happening' seeks to help NRIs, through interactive participation, to solve their doubts and queries relating to buying Indian property, especially relating to issues like Transfers, Nominations and Successions as also tax-related and repatriation issues,” said Ajmera.
'India Happening' has been planned to be a live, interactive learning experience. Zubin Mehta, CEO, MCHI said, “NRIs who attend the same will have the opportunity of learning from professionals who will speak about topical and relevant topics through user-friendly presentations and talks.
“The NRI who will attend 'India Happening' will have the opportunity to interact with and obtain responses from the presenters via the system devised for the session. In the past, MCHI has brought experts who conducted similar sessions for the benefit of NRIs including legal, investment and tax advisors as also research analysts, among others.”
The event will be addressed by two legal and taxation experts from Mumbai and will have a Dubai-based NRI as the guest speaker. These are: Dr Ram Buxani, K K Ramani and Hari Raheja.
