Once a village located on the outskirts of Pune on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway, Hinjewadi is now home to one of India's fastest growing technology parks, Rajeev Gandhi Infotech Park.

Two phases of this IT hub have already been completed with phase three underway and plans for future phases in place. The park houses offices of several eminent companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, Honeywell, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra, among others.

The presence of the technology park, world-class hotels, and future development plans in the area has made Hinjewadi a popular choice for real estate developers. Due to massive development taking place in and around Hinjewadi, property prices in the area have greatly appreciated.

Connectivity

Hinjewadi is ideally located just off the NH4 bypass and as such it is easy to locate and is well connected with other parts of the city. It is about 18 kilometres from the Pune railway station and 22 kilometres from the airport. There also few buses plying between Hinjewadi and Pune city centre. The city of Mumbai is 145 kilometres from Hinjewadi, which is about a three and a half hour drive on the expressway.

Owing to its growth into one of the country's premier technology and business hubs, a number of hotels have mushroomed in Hinjewadi. The stadium also hosts league matches for the Pune Football Club. There is also a fitness centre within the sports complex with facilities for Yoga and Meditation.

Educational Institutions

In addition to being a corporate hub and a sought-after residential area, Hinjewadi is also home to several schools and educational institutions. These include the Mercedes Benz International School, Symbiosis Infotech Campus, Symbiosis Institute of International Business and Blueridge Public School, among others.

Hospitals and Banks

Most of the major banks have their branches and ATMs in Hinjewadi such as ICICI, Punjab National Bank, IDBI, HDFC, Band of India, Bank of Maharashtra and Indian Overseas Bank. Some of the major hospitals in the area include Hinjewadi Hospital, Sanjeevani Hospital and Shree Hospital.
