September 24 2015   |   Wedita Pandey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the United States (US) on 24 September, marking his second visit to the country since he became the Prime Minister of India. During this visit, PM Modi will visit Silicon Valley, located along the west coast of the country. It was only last year that PM Modi had visited the east coast city, New York, and had shared the central government's 'Make in India' campaign with the US-based investors. This year, he seems to have a lot more on his plate.

The Indian business community is keeping a keen eye on the developments, as he is expected to promote the 'Make in India', 'Digital India', 'Smart City Mission', and 'Start-up India' campaigns among the established and emerging entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley in attempts to attract large investments to the country. During his visit to the Silicon Valley, Modi is also likely to encourage Indian entrepreneurs to help create a robust start-up culture in India through the 'Start-up India' campaign.

PM Modi will also meet the CXOs of global companies such as Google, Facebook and Tesla Motors, and have a round table discussion with more than 50 start-up CEOs. The discussion will focused on the current business environment in the country and how they can contribute to make it more facilitating. All of this will not only woo a lot of NRIs to invest in India but would also encourage Indian entrepreneurs to focus on improving India's ranking among nations for 'Ease of doing Business'.
