Sanjay Singla, a Bengaluru-based businessman, recently bought a home in an under-construction project in Begur near Hosur Road. He bought this property through an online home buying process, which he says was a simplified one. Singla has been living in Bengaluru from past four year with his family, which includes his parents, wife and a son. This is his second property in Bengaluru. In an interview with Wedita Pandey of PropGuide, Singla shares his online home-buying experience. Edited excerpts:

PropGuide: Describe your new home to our readers.

Singla: The new apartment, which is still under construction, is located in Purvankara's Purva Westend in the Begur locality near Hosur Road of Bengaluru. It is a 3BHK apartment on the 16th floor of this project. I am eagerly awaiting to the way the apartment will turn out to be.

PropGuide: So, until the apartment is constructed, are you residing in a rented or self-owned house?

Singla: I own one more house in Bengaluru. At present, I am residing in this property with my family.

PropGuide: What was the purpose of buying another apartment?

Singla: I had been planning to invest in a real estate project, which offers good growth and return potential. When I came across this property I realised this is exactly what I was looking for and bought it. Investment was the sole purpose for buying this property. Though if it turns out to be worthwhile and fits my definition of a dream home, I might shift into this property with my family.

PropGuide: How well did you research about this project, before investing in it? Why did you choose this project?

Singla: I did an extensive research about various properties before closing this deal. I invested in this project for two key reasons. First, Begur is one of the fastest developing localities of Bengaluru. Second, the project enjoys good connectivity to other major areas of the city including Hosur-Road, Silk Board Junction and Electronics City.

PropGuide: How much did the apartment cost you? How did you manage it?

Singla: The total cost of the apartment is Rs 78 lakh. I have opted for a Construction Link Payment Plan (CLP) for the payment of this apartment.

PropGuide: How was your online home-buying experience?

Singla: I never imagined that the process of home-buying could be simplified and eased to this extent. PropTiger.com did a great job in helping me buy this house. It was a very good experience and the pictures along with the descriptions on the website helped me make my mind. While people mostly have a tiring experience of finding a home and buying it, for me this was a joyful experience for me. The process of buying a home online is much easier, uncomplicated and smooth. Online home-buying saves a lot of time and effort.

PropGuide: What is your advice to the prospective home buyers?

Singla: For those planning to buy an apartment for dwelling or investment purposes extensive research is important before you invest in a project. One should research about the project, developer, locality and even compare the prices with other similar projects in the vicinity. Also, if buying for investment purpose, know about the returns the property can get you in future.
