The government of Andhra Pradesh has shortlisted three of world's leading architects to conceptualise the government complex, the first structure in the city. The three architects, Norman Foster, Rem Koolhaas and Richard Rogers, will now compete for the project under the Swiss Challenge method. Read more 

The state cabinet of Maharashtra has withdrawn the ban on fragmentation of non-agricultural land, in order to boost construction of townships. The ban has been lifted from land measuring 2,000 sq mt or less. The move will help the real estate market in the state, as demand and development will rise, thus, bringing down the property prices. Piramal Realty has launched a premium residential project named Vivaan in Balkum area of Thane exclusively for NRIs in Dubai. The project is part of Piramal Vaikunth, which is spread over 32 acres land and has 14 towers. Vivaan, the central tower in the complex, will house 60 2BHK apartments. Read more

According to a recently released report, private equity (PE) investments worth $2.8 billion has been made in the real estate sector in the period of January-September 2015. This is being touted as the highest investment made in the sector since, 2008. The report suggests, the investment is 84 per cent higher than the same period a year ago, and 22 per cent higher than the investment made in entire 2014. Read more
