The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has received over 1.35 lakh applications for its 972 houses being sold through a lottery system. The houses that are being offered are in the price range of Rs 8 to Rs 84 lakh in Mumbai's suburban locations, including Borivali, Dahisar, Goregaon, Malad, Mankhurd, Chembur, Kurla and Powai. These residential units are spread over 180 sq ft to 800 sq ft.

Tata Capital Housing Finance Limited has launched Prapti, a home loan scheme to cater to the low-income segment. The company said it aimed to help individuals realise their home-buying dream by providing home loans at subsidised interest rates. The scheme is applicable for households with an income of up to Rs 6 lakh per annum.

The Supreme Court has ordered as many as six former Uttar Pradesh chief ministers to vacate their government bungalows in Lucknow within two months. Those who have been issued notices include Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati, Narendra Tiwari, Ram Naresh Yadav, Kalyan Singh and Rajnath Singh. The apex court held that the former chief ministers were not entitled to government accommodations. 

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has put on sale 37,118 sq m of transfer of development rights (TDR) to fund infrastructure projects. TDR is a development right given to builders in exchange for surrendering land for public amenities or carrying out community rehabilitation work.
