For better development and growth of the villages in Andhra Pradesh, the state government is mulling the idea of upgrading the village panchayats into nagar panchayats or municipal towns. For this, the state would soon perform a feasibility study. However, reports suggest that village panchayats with a population over 25,000 could be considered for this upgradation.
