To enable easy take-off of construction projects in the proximity of airports, the Urban Development Ministry has directed 13 cities with aerodromes to go online with building approval plans by March next year. These cities are among the 15 cities for which the Airports Authority of India has already evolved Colour-Coded Zoning Maps to accord No-Objection Certificates in respect of height of construction projects. Delhi and Mumbai have already enabled online approvals based on a common application form. Read more

Real estate company Emaar MGF has filed a demerger scheme in the Delhi High Court after joint venture partners, Dubai-based Emaar Properties and India's MGF Development,  decided to part ways. In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Emaar MGF Land Ltd said the demerger scheme was filed with the High Court on May 16. Read more

The civic body plans to share this information in the public domain in about a month's time. As part of its expansion plans for India, Australia-based StayWell Hospitality Group plans to add five hotels with around 550 rooms by year-end. Currently, the group has three operational hotels in the country and is planning to open five new hotels at Hyderabad, Goa, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Greater Noida. Read more
