The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered a detailed probe against Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for allegedly abusing its dominant position related to a Rohini plot scheme that was launched way back in 1981. The detailed investigation has been ordered after finding that DDA prima facie violated competition norms.
Owing to limited scope to expand in the City Beautiful due to non-availability of land, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) for the first time is moving outside the city and will construct flats in Punjab's Mullanpur and Kandaghat, near Solan in Himachal Pradesh. While the construction of a few projects is under way in Mullanpur, 60 acres will be developed in Kandaghat. The scheme would be open for all and not restricted to Chandigarh residents.
Mumbai's Cuffe Parade residents have approached the Bombay high court to stay the construction of Metro III claiming that the due process of law for acquiring properties had not been followed. Residents of buildings close to where a Metro station is to be constructed said the government had not acquired land, roads, streets or passages, which will include parks and playgrounds, in accordance with procedure laid down in Metro Railways (Construction of Work) Act, 1978.
Pittsburgh's tallest building is up for sale. Experts estimate that 64-storey US Steel Tower, triangular office building, could fetch $350 million. The current owner, 601W Cos., a New York holding company, paid $250 million for the building in 2011.
