#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Delhi Metro's Kalkaji Mandir-Botanical Garden Corridor Gets Safety Clearance
The Kalkaji Mandir-Botanical Garden corridor of the Delhi Metro's Magenta Line, which will reduce travel time between Noida and south Delhi, has been granted the required safety approval. The section is likely to become operational this by November-end. This stretch will be the Metro's first-ever corridor to use Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling technology. This technology will facilitate movement of trains with a frequency of 90 to 100 seconds.

According to the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) , the Delhi government owes the municipal body Rs 2,630 crore as dues. The NDMC has sought an intervention by the Centre to recover those dues. According to the officials, the financial condition of the corporation has been bad since the trifurcation of the Municipal Delhi Corporation (MCD) in 2012.

The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to create a unit for evolving land managementpolicies, and clear the encroachments on public land. This unit will continuously monitor the land management policies of the DDA, and ensure that court orders are implemented wherever needed.

The new look of three railway stations — Nagpur in Maharashtra, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh and Baiyayanppanahalli in Bengaluru — will be selected through an international design contest. The Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) has called an international design competition to develop the stations according to the international standards. The competition will witness participation from architects and students from around the world.
