Jharkhand has emerged as the best-performing state in terms of cleanliness while Indore in Madhya Pradesh was adjudged the cleanest city in the country, in the Swachh Survekshan 2018. In this year’s survey, where 37.66 lakh citizens gave their feedback, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) was named the cleanest municipality area, with a population between one lakh and three lakh.
Meanwhile, Delhi is projected to become the most populous city in the world by around 2028, according to new United Nations estimates released on May 16.

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority has asked the Noida Administration to issue recovery certificates (RC) to two developers and recover Rs 1.23 crore from them over their failure to comply with a previous order of the regulator. The state regulatory body, which was set up in May last year, had earlier directed the two developers—IVR Prime IT Pvt Ltd and Amrapali Group – to refund buyers who decided to opt out of their projects.

The Supreme Court on May 16 held that the process to auction Sahara group's prime Aamby Valley property near Pune would continue, as the group has failed to deposit Rs 750 crore in a refund account. It was in August last year that the Bombay High Court had ordered that the property be auctioned for a reserve price of Rs 37,392 crore, following the Sahara Chief's inability to deposit Rs 5,000 crore.

According to a recent report by global consultant Ernst & Young (E&Y) there was a 23 per cent jump in venture investments in India in April. A total of $2.4 billion was invested in the country, largely in India’s e-commerce, infrastructure and realty sectors. Year-on-year comparisons show that investors’ interest in infrastructure and real estate sectors in 2018 seems to be greater than in 2017, which recorded two deals worth $179 million in the month of April.
