Jaiprakash Associates (JAL) has moved the Supreme Court, seeking permission to sell its toll project in Yamuna Expressway to cover its liability towards Jaypee Infratech homebuyers. The apex will hear the matter on October 23. The SC had earlier directed the company to deposit Rs 2,000 crore by October 27 for paying the trouble-hit home buyers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project on November 28. The prime minister will inaugurate a 30-kilometre stretch of the Metro rail project, extending from Nagole to Miyapur. This stretch traverses along one of the most congested arterial roads of Hyderabad.

If land acquisition process for the Kochi Metro fails to gain momentum, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be forced to limit the next reach of the project till Thykoodam. Neither the DMRC nor the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) is able to finalise a deadline for completing the works along the remaining stretch in the first phase of the network.

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to digitise land records in 70 districts. A total of Rs 15.71 crore will be spent on this project. It is worth mentioning here that the state made it mandatory for all districts to register complaints on land-grab cases on real-time basis with the government's anti-land mafia website since August this year.
