#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Karnataka To Regularise ‘B’ Khata Properties
The Karnataka government is working on a scheme to regularise ‘B’ Khata properties, which come under corporation limits by amending the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964. The decision will enable property owners to obtain an ‘A’ khata by paying improvement and conversion fee. The value of these properties is likely to double as they will become legitimate. Owners will also be eligible to obtain bank loans.

The Maharashtra government has decided to lift the curb on the permissible built-up area on slum plot. Currently, builders redeveloping slum clusters in Mumbai were permitted to construct up to three times the plot size. Now, the state government has decided to withdraw the cap on the permissible floor space index (FSI) for slum redevelopment projects.

The Centre has told the Supreme Court that it has finalised a set of guidelines for blacklisting builders, contractors and architects responsible for unauthorised constructions in the national capital. An advisory has also been sent to states to take precautionary measures against illegal constructions in their respective areas.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) plans to construct a 67-km elevated road to connect Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport with the upcoming airport in Greater Noida's Jewar. The development body has asked the National Capital Region Transport Corporation to conduct a feasibility study for the project by the next six months.
Meanwhile, around 500 farmers have agreed to hand over their land for the project.
