The Forest Advisory Committee of the Environment Ministry has given forest clearance to the Navi Mumbai Airport. Impressed with the presentation of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (Cidco) , the central government gave the final approval to the Navi Mumbai Airport. The Cidco had argued that the Navi Mumbai Airport complies with the 35 conditions the Environment Ministry laid down in 2013. Read more.

'Law will ensure even smaller buildings meet green norms'

The environment ministry said in a statement to an English daily that the while granting building permissions, the law will ensure that even the smallest buildings meet environmental standards. Delhi govt writes to Centre, wants higher FAR

Delhi PWD Minister Satyendra Jain wrote to Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu saying that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) a change in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy to help real estate developers.  According to the transit-oriented policy, real estate developments near transit corridors will be granted a higher Floor Area Ratio (FAR) . Centre pledges Rs 273 cr to build smart grid in Gurgaon 

The central government committed a grant of Rs 273 crore to build a smart grid in Gurgaon. When the construction is completed, Gurgaon will become India's first city with a smart grid which will reduce blackouts and help cut power bills and generate solar energy. Read more.
