#RealtyNewsRoundUp: NGT Orders Probe Against Ansal For Flouting Green Norms

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered a probe into the dealings of real estate developer Ansal Buildwell and its sister concern, Aadhaarshila Towers, for allegedly violating environmental law and town planning norms while building plush Sushant Lok 2 and 3 colonies in Gurgaon. Meanwhile, the builder has reported a net loss of Rs 2.68 crore in the quarter ended June. Ansal had reported a net loss of Rs 2.14 crore in the same quarter last year.

The NGT has formed a committee to look into the question whether sub-regional plans for protection of Natural Conservation Zones (NCZs) in Delhi were consistent with the regional plan prepared by the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) . In an affidavit filed before the tribunal, the NCRPB had earlier said that there was shrinkage in NCZs such as forests, water bodies and wastelands in Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Spending a weekend in Europe's 10 most popular cities during the summer could have the same health impact as smoking one to four cigarettes a day, according to a study by Transport & Environment (T&E) , a non-government organisation. Emissions from cars are the main source of particulate matter in the 10 cities during the summer. Cities included in the list are London, Paris, Istanbul, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Prague and Dublin.

The Masulla building on Pakmodia Street, which is owned by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was bought by the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) for Rs 3.51 crore at a public auction. This is the fourth property of Ibhrahim’s that the SBUT has acquired. The Masulla building has been declared unfit for living and poses serious risk to the lives of tenants and pedestrians. The trust will use the property as part of the Bhendi Bazaar redevelopment project.
