The state-run Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) will form a joint venture with private developers and land owners to meet the target of constructing 20 lakh affordable houses before 2020. To be a part of this venture, any individual or a corporate with an availability of land for housing development can approach Mhada.

The Gautam Budh Nagar administration has announced that there will be no change in the circle rate in the current financial year. In FY 2016-17, the circle rates were increased by nearly 14 per cent, although the apartments were kept out of the purview of the hike. Reports suggest that there might be a hike in circle rate of Jewar given the rise in demand for real estate in the backdrop of the upcoming airport here.

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has given its approval to increase the height of residential buildings with more than six dwelling units. This increase will allow such developments to have extra space to have better-furnished interiors and systems including centralised air conditioning, false ceilings and decorative lights.

The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) goes online with the building plan approval process. The residents could log on to this new digital system starting next month. At present, residents and developers have to apply for approval, renewal or alteration of building designs manually.
