The Delhi High Court has asked the state government to notify the solid-waste-management byelaws within two weeks. Besides introduction of user fees for municipal services, the byelaws also provide for enforcing segregation of waste at source, strengthening of waste collection, storage, transportation and processing systems and imposing of penalties for littering or violating the rules.

Delhi's upscale Khan Market has moved up four positions to become the world's 24th most-expensive retail location while it continued to be the costliest location to hire a shop in India, according to a report by international property consultancy. In the 2016 report, Khan Market was placed on the 28th spot.

The parking fees in areas falling under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation will now be restored to the previous rates from November 16.  The three municipal bodies in Delhi ─ the SMDC, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation ─ had implemented a four-time hike in parking fees from November 9, in view of the high level of pollution in the city.

Travel by civic transport utility-run buses in Mumbai beyond a certain distance is likely to get costlier. The BEST committee has voted for a fare hike, ranging from Re 1 to Rs 12, for distance of over four kilometres. No hike has been recommended for shorter routes.
