The Public Works Department is working on a proposal to construct an elevated corridor between the Signature Bridge near Wazirabad and the DND Flyway in a bid to decongest the Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road. The corridor is likely to be 12-13-km long, and will be constructed by the PWD in a phased manner.

After the success of the Smart City Challenge, the Centre is ready to introduce a similar technology competition to give fillip to the Housing for All programme. The competition – to be called the Housing Challenge — would be conducted by states to choose the best and most cost-effective technology for affordable housing projects.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has seen 25 per cent of the ongoing projects in its limits not registering with the MahaRERA within the July-31 deadline. As many as 1,500 ongoing projects in the PMRDA limits had applied for registration with the regulator and 365 have already received the certificates.

China-based developer Country Garden is close to sealing a deal with TVH, a Chennai-based developer, to buy a 60-ground land parcel at Kotturpuram. TVH bought the land parcel in 2009 for Rs 120 crore.
