The Reserve Bank of India has tightened its rules around bank loan defaults, seeking to push bigger defaulters toward bankruptcy courts and abolishing half a dozen existing loan-restructuring mechanisms. The RBI said the new set of rules were aimed at creating a "harmonised and simplified generic framework" for resolution of stressed assets in view of new bankruptcy regulations.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) and the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) expressways in March. Khattar said the construction work on those expressways would be completed within the prescribed time frame, and it would help in getting rid of traffic jams.

In her last Budget before the state goes to polls, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has announced land revenue exemption that would benefit almost 40-50 lakh farmers. The CM also announced converting highways and mega-highways into emergency landing places and construction of nearly 21,614 km roads to be constructed in rural areas.

India's tree and forest cover has registered an increase of one per cent since 2015, according to the India State of Forest Report-2017. According to the report, India’s total forest cover is 708,273 sqkm, which is 21.54 per cent of the total geographical area of the country.
