The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved the proposed amendment to the Master Plan 2021, which includes bringing a uniform floor-area ratio (FAR) for shop-cum-residence plots and complexes on a par with residential plots. The proposed move aims to bring relief to the traders from a sealing drive, which was initiated in December last year at the instruction of a Supreme Court-appointed monitoring panel.

Retirement fund body Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made it mandatory to file online claims for provident fund withdrawals above Rs 10 lakh, taking another step towards becoming a paperless organisation. The EPFO has also made it mandatory to file online claims for withdrawals of above Rs 5 lakh under the Employees Pension Scheme, 1995. At present, EPFO subscribers have the option of filing online as well as manual claims for provident fund withdrawal as also for pension.

The Punjab Local Bodies Department will soon ink a pact with the Punjab Remote Sensing Centre to curb rampant illegal construction. A plan is also being worked on to convert the nullahs flowing in the state's cities into green belts. The memorandum of understanding with remote- sensing centre to curb illegal construction will for a period of five years initially.

Navi Mumbai Airport developer GVK Group has asked government bodies the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) to cough up a part of the cost incurred on the recent foundation stone-laying ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The airport developer claims it has incurred around Rs 10.34 crore for the mega event at the Ulwe node of the satellite city on February 18. While GVK Group owns 74 per cent in the airport, the Cidco owns the remaining 26 per cent.
