In a huge relief to people from economically weaker sections of society, the Telangana government recently announced a major loan waiver for housing beneficiaries in the state. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said Rs 3,920 crore loan that had to be paid by the beneficiaries of Indiramma weaker section housing scheme had been waived off.
The Centre has approved investments of Rs 266 crore for improving water supply and sewerage networks in Delhi under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation scheme. With this, the national capital will get a total of Rs 489 crore for improving urban infrastructure. As per AMRUT guidelines, the Centre will provide a total of Rs 804 crore to Delhi for the five-year period.
To provide housing finance options to the National Pension System (NPS) subscribers, the pension fund regulator has set up a committee to look into the proposal. The panel, which will be headed by former MD and CEO of HDFC Life Deepak M Satwalekar, will submit its report within six weeks.
Altico Capital has invested Rs 400 crore in two projects at Pune and Noida. Under these investments, the non-banking financial company has extended the debt of Rs 175 crore in Pharande Puneville, at Punawale off Mumbai-Pune Highway and Rs 225 crore in Panchsheel's Greens II project at Noida Extension in Greater Noida. Recently, the company has deployed over Rs 1,000 crore in the NCR market having closed transactions with Vatika, SARE Homes and Panchsheel.
