#RealtyNewsRoundup: TNRERA Makes Registration Must For Issuing Completion Certificates To Housing Projects

Housing projects that are not registered with the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) will not be provided completion certificates. In a recent government order, Interim Chairperson of the regulator S Krishnan directed the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and the Town and Country Planning Department to include TNRERA registration numbers as one of the prerequisites for providing completion certificates.

To provide homes to tribals and slum dwellers living in the areas, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority’s (Mhada) has decided to unlock 90 acre of land near Aarey Milk Colony to build a township, comprising about 27,000 units. The Mhada floated a tender for the township project on December 10 , that is likely to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 3,510 crore.

To cut the losses the body has been making on maintenance of its rented properties, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided to sell 3,500 residential and commercial buildings. The LDA decision to do so will impact as many as 17,000 people. The LDA might hold an auction to sell the properties in January.
