The Year Gone by and the Year Ahead

2014 is just around the corner and people all over the world are ready to usher in the New Year with much fervor and enthusiasm. For some, the New Year is nothing more than a change of a calendar while for many others it heralds hope and better times ahead.

While bringing in the New Year, all of us most certainly reminisce and look back at the year gone by. For India, this year was a mixed bag. While the devastating Uttarakhand floods filled the country with much sorrow and despair, the results of recent State elections signaled change and progress in the country. While Sachin Tendulkar left many of us teary eyed as he bid adieu to Cricket; the launch of the Mars Orbiter Mission by the ISRO displayed India’s science and technology prowess.

No matter the number of highs and lows in 2013, here’s looking at 2014 as a year filled with countless joys, myriad opportunities, and good health for all.
