June 26 2015   |   Katya Naidu

Noida is no more a suburb of Delhi. It houses one of the largest malls in the country. It is not just all about entertainment, though. Noida has its own shopping places, eateries, temples and landmarks to visit, thus making it a city that is one of its kind.

Also find Noida Entertainment City in Noida, from where you should kick start your weekend! Here is everything you can do on a weekend in Noida:

1. Mall shopping: If you are in the mood for mall hopping, Noida is the best place to be. The Great India Place is not just any three-storey mall. It is spread across 150,000,000 square feet. Simply browsing through it will take half a day. Not only is it host to a multitude of international brands, it also has something for everyone in terms of clothing, electronics and other home needs. It also has spas and restaurants for those who want a break from shopping.

2. Amusement parks: If malls do not hold much interest, the mall is just next to one of North India's most famous amusement parks, Worlds of Wonder. The amusement park has riding, boating and water parks with fun themes of aliens to bring your childhood back to you.

Adventure Hangout is another unique hangout that brings a village into the city. This unique theme park offers camping and bonfire nights. It also gives a taste of rustic life, where you can stay in mud huts with tube wells and a kundi. There are tree swings, tractor rides, hammocks, horses that you can ride and camel carts as well. Make sure you are aptly dressed for this adventure!

The Okhla Bird Sanctuary is a must visit for those who like to spend time outdoors.

3. Shop and eat on the street: Noida is not Delhi but it offers delicious traces of Delhi. The trip will be incomplete if you don't eat and shop on the street. Head to Bramhaputra market at Sector 29 if you are bored of the regular restaurants. If you are a foodie, you cannot miss Sector 18. From momo stands on its streets to Haldiram outlets, the place has it all. You can also head to Bikanervala Bliss or Nathu Sweets for quick bites. There is also a Goli Vada Pav Centre for Delhiites who like Mumbai's favourite snack. If you want to catch a beer, there is Cheenos offering good Hokkahs and beer.

For those interested in street food, there is a very cleverly designed restaurant called Street Foods of India at The Great India Place.

4. Golf Course: Noida has every bit of high life in its locations. One of them is the exquisitely designed golf course. Just make sure you are friends with a member to secure entry!

5. Temples and landmarks: After all the partying and eating, if you want a moment of peace, you can always head to Shri Hanuman Mandir or Shani Dham. The suburb also lets you pay your respects to war heroes at the War Memorial and Shaheed Smarak.
