The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has roped in developers to create multi-storey buildings in place of existing staff quarters at Model Town and Azadpur. The civic body has already issued tenders inviting bids from developers. The deadline for both the projects has been set at 36 months.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has filed a fresh petition to evict the Le Meridian Hotel in the heart of the capital, citing pending charges of over Rs 500 crore. The NDMC cancelled the licence of the hotel on March 2.

Developers in Uttar Pradesh who want to register themselves as real estate law-complaint will have to do so by submitting hard copies of the required documents for another two weeks, say media reports. According to media reports, the state will complete the process to bring the whole system online by the end of July.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority has removed a statue at the Badshapur Chowk in Gurgaon that was coming in the way of completing the final leg of the long-delayed Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) . Once the SPR is completed, it is expected to reduce traffic pressure on Iffco Chowk, improve connectivity of new sectors and breathe life into around 50 real estate projects being developed along the road.

The Tamil Nadu government has proposed to create an authority, a court and tribunal to deal with rent-related issues, and to balance the rights of the landlords and tenants. A state may soon pass a legislation named the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Right and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017, in this regard.
