The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Pune will construct affordable houses for as low as Rs 8.72 lakh per flat for the poor in the city under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The project, the first under the scheme in the city, is estimated to cost Rs 144 crore.
The Rajasthan government plans to pull down the Rajasthan House, one of its high-valued properties at Chanakyapuri in the national capital, and construct a high-rise. For this, the state has sought permission from the New Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is holding an e-auction for 43 residential sites in various sectors of Panchkula Urban Estate on October 27. According to Huda officials, 14 sites in Sector 2, 11 sites in Sector 4, one site each in Sector 7 and Sector 9, and 16 sites in Sector 12 will go under the hammer. The bidders can register themselves till October 25.
The Centre will sell a 15 per cent stake in National Buildings Construction Corporation (India) Limited to raise around Rs 2,218 crore through a two-day offer for sale beginning today. The government, which holds 90 per cent stake in the company, has set a floor price of Rs 246.50 per share.
In some good news for around 24,000 families waiting for a plot in Delhi's Rohini for the last three decades can finally breathe easy. The Supreme Court dismissed petitions filed by farmers who had challenged the land acquisition. The court said any land acquired for Rohini Residential Scheme-1981 cannot be returned back to farmers but they can apply for 'enhanced compensation' under New Land Acquisition Act.
