A part of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) , Malleswaram is home to a majority of the rich and upper-middle-class population of the city.

New infrastructure projects and connectivity to the Kempegowda International Airport has enhanced the real estate demand in this locality. Besides, development of special economic zones (SEZs) and growth of corporate offices in the vicinity is expected to sustain the residential demand here.

The Margosa Road and the Sampige Road are arterial links that connect Malleswaram to the rest of Bengaluru. A railway station on the Bengaluru and the Yeshwantpur line and public transportation provided by the Metropolitan Transportation Corporation buses (BMTC) , rickshaws and taxis, ensure hassle-free connectivity for the residents. A proposed Metro station under the Namma Metro's Green Line will further ease commuting from Malleswaram.
