What Works Best For You: Condos, Duplexes, Villas, 1BHKs or Studios?

A home is a place where people want to come back to. Comfort is the USP that any home can have. However, comfort means different things for different people.

Listed are pros and cons of the different types of homes available in the market. Pick the one that fits your requirement the best:

  • Duplexes: Do you have grown-up kids who yearn for their own space and you are unable to let them move out? Many parents are choosing to buy a duplex house and rent out a part of it to their own children or family members. This might ensure that you stay close enough but not infringe on privacy of each other. Duplexes also come cheaper in comparison to an apartment with the same number of bedrooms and carpet area.

  • Villas: For those looking for the much-required peace and quiet would prefer villas. Many developers also give the choice to design a villa just the way you want it to suit your taste. People, who like to maintain a small kitchen garden or a flower bed or even a cement elevation with a Tulsi plant, would prefer villas. Many people even build small swimming pools using the extra space around the villas. It is also best suited for those who have pets since they can get place to play around. Villas, however, mean lots of time and energy spent on their maintenance and security. These are best suited for retired professionals or those who work from home.

  • Condos: Condos are the best preferred form of housing, especially in urban areas. Owning a condo comes with a built-in society for the collective houses. The advantage of living in condos is low maintenance. There are a lot of shared utilities that go with a condo like pools, gardens, parks, health clubs, running tracks and gyms, which a home owner can use without having to take up the headache of maintaining it. It is mostly preferred by working professionals and working couples who do not spend a major part of the day at home.

  • 1BHK: A small compact house might not carry much of an attractive premium on the attractiveness index. The ease of maintenance, simple living and lower costs are factors that help in a long way, going forward. One bedroom flats also belong to smaller societies where there are no extra facilities like swimming pool and jogging track and hence, come with low maintenance charges. They have basic security and cleaning services. They also count for lesser tax, which is to be paid to revenue authorities on a daily basis. It is best suited for small families with low incomes.

  • Studio: The trend of living in studio apartments came forth in cities where single working professionals prefer to stay close to their workplaces. Adding to that is the advantage of minimalistic furniture and the simplicity of having all the necessities in the same room. Studios can also be very well designed to make it look uber-rich for those, who can afford big homes but prefer smaller ones for convenience purposes.
