What Will Win Your Heart While Buying Homes?

May 13 2015   |   Katya Naidu

Do not be dismissive of the role your heart plays while buying a property in residential projects in India. A lot of decisions that are made are driven by the heart, defying all logic or the cost of the property or real estate values.

Here’s a look at some aspects that might strike your heart while buying a home:

1. Beautiful view: Do you see a nice garden when you look out of the window? Or does a parrot visit your balcony? Or, is there a tree hanging close to your window? These might seal the deal for tree-huggers who are increasing in numbers as apartment culture builds in. If you see something that brings a smile to your face, you might go the extra mile to buy that place. And, why should you not?

2. Vaastu: Is the kitchen located in the right corner on the ‘fire’ side as per Vaastu Shastra? Is the bathroom located at the ‘water’ side? That might beat the heart of the spiritually inclined. Urban and modern people too become extra-cautious to ensure that their property is ‘right’ in every aspect. After all, it a long-term investment and you should make sure that no evil omen comes in the way of your property ownership.

3. Light: A lot of people are mesmerized by the light that flows into upcoming flats for sale in India. Well-ventilated properties might make you trip and fall for it. Fresh air and light are must-haves, especially for people who want their suburban homes to be an escape from all the ills of a city life.

4. Neighborhood: If an apartment is located in a quiet lane with a neighborhood full of people who either speak your language or are from the same place that you are from, that might seal the deal for you. This might ring a bell especially for those who have not lived in their hometown for years and yearn for some connect to the place they belong.

5. Kitchen: If it is the lady of the home who is taking an active part in the home-buying decision, she would vote for the apartment which has a well-constructed kitchen. There might be a regal bedroom and a spacious hall, but if the builder has scrimped on the kitchen, it could turn out to be a deal-breaker for many. Why not? A kitchen is also a work station and should provide the necessary facilities and amenities and should be convenient to use. Many builders are warming up to this idea of an American style of large kitchen, which include dining area, making it a mini-hall.

6. Flooring: Many people under-estimate the impact of flooring on the look and feel of a ready to move in flat in India or an apartment in upcoming properties in India. Neat and well-done flooring can go a long way when it comes to making a choice of home. It will decide the time spent by a home owner on its maintenance in the long run. And, many of them recognize this and go for the best floor that they can stand on.

It might not be a bad idea to listen to your heart. After all, a home is where the heart is!
