A beautiful locality in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, Ambattur is recognised for its picturesque surroundings and flourishing industries in north Chennai. A part of Chennai Corporation in 2011, Ambattur is surrounded by well-developed residential localities. The town gets its name from ambathu oor in Tamil which means collaboration of 50 small towns. Home to the famous Amman Temple, the region is considered one among 108 Shakthi Sthals in the country. Major IT parks in the locality are Prince Info Park, Ambit Park, One Indiabulls Park and Chennai Tech Park.

Road and rail connectivity

MTC bus service provides excellent connectivity from Ambattur to other parts of the city. There is a smooth link via National Highway-205 as well as the Chennai-Kolkata Highway which is 67 kilometres away. Pattaravakkam railway station and Central-Arakkonam railway line are the major rail link to this burgeoning residential destination. The extension of Phase 2 of Chennai monorail has been proposed which shall further facilitate the commuting experience of the residents of Ambattur.
