The extension of the Old Mamallapuram Road has been proposed which will further enhance the connectivity of the region. Development of an elevated expressway is underway that will extend up to Madhya Kailash to Mahabalipuram. Kelambakkam will have a station on an upcoming railway line connecting Chennai to Pondicherry.
