Bengaluru Is World’s Most Dynamic City, Hyderabad 2nd: Report
Challenging economic conditions might have hindered the growth of property markets worldwide, but some cities are defying that trend where “real estate and economic growth continue to be robust”. According to a report by a global property consultant, India’s information capital Bengaluru happens to be the top-ranking city in the world on that front. In a list of 20 most dynamic cities in 2018, other Indian cities that have featured include Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata.
Hyderabad and Delhi have been ranked second and fourth in the list, respectively. While Pune occupies the fifth slot in the list, Chennai and Kolkata have been ranked seventh and 15th, respectively.
While the Asia Pacific region is home to 19 of the top 20 cities in this year’s index, Indian and Chinese cities dominate the rankings, accounting for three-quarters of the top 20.
While stating that real estate is pivotal to sustainable momentum, the report says that regeneration projects can dramatically transform the trajectory of a rapidly growing city.
While stressing that a long-term momentum and a maturing economy require long-term foreign direct investment, the report says that this comes when investors can see transparent governance in markets, including real estate.
"India’s fastest-growing cities have been successful over recent years in attracting high levels of foreign direct investment, with structural reforms, including the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, encouraging more real-estate investment from foreign buyers," the report says.
