Decor Ideas for the Study Room
With the new academic session around the corner, it’s a good time to give your study room a new look. The study room is an integral part of every student’s life. There is no other space that sees you through an A+ in Geography, an F on the Hindi class test, endless rounds of rehearsals for the morning assembly's speech, or writing your personal diary every night. There is no other space that watches you grow up the way it does. Therefore, the study room is one place that best personifies your individuality.

The most important aspect of decorating your study room is the comfort and convenience of the environment. It is important that your study place complements your study process, and enhances your productivity and concentration. For example, choose a color for the walls that is invigorating, soothing as well as helps you stay focused. Colors like sage green, ash blue, lighter shades of brown, and pale white will be good options.

Complementing the paint on the walls with wall hangings and paintings is a great idea for a study room. This may include the world map, or portraits of people you idolize. You can also use wall paintings that appeal to your senses and put you at ease, thereby helping you concentrate on the work at hand. A bookcase in the form of a wooden panel along the wall is rather befitting for a study. Adding a bean bag or a sofa would complete your library and add to your reading/studying experience.

The lighting in the study room is a crucial element. While it should not be too bright and jazzy to attenuate the sobriety of the environment, it should be sufficient to allow good reading and writing without any considerable strain. Picking a sufficiently bright and stylish study lamp, or installing a few table lights for the study table are options you might want to consider.

Finally, the flooring is also an essential element that you must take into account when designing your study space. Depending upon your individual tastes and preferences you may want to opt for a carpet clad look, wooden or ceramic flooring. While wooden flooring beings a hint of classy professionalism, ceramic flooring requires the least amount of maintenance and care.
