Gas Burners: It is most important to keep gas burners clean, as not doing so can result in reduced heat release and unnecessary wastage of gas. In order to ensure that your gas burner is always as good as new, make it a regular habit to clean the burner heads and spill bowls using soapy water and patting them dry before use. Burnt food particles inside the burner heads are best cleaned using a dry needle. Always ensure that the gas stove is switched off and cool before you clean it.

Clothes Dryer: There have been several reported cases of fire breaking out in households due to lint getting caught inside the exhaust vent. Hence it is crucial to check your clothes dryer as well as its exhaust vent for the accumulation of lint at regular intervals. A brush and vacuum should come handy while cleaning your dryer.

Refrigerator: As much as we use the front doors of the refrigerator, we tend to often neglect the rear side, which houses the refrigerator coils and compressor and keeps accumulating dust over time. Though most tend to ignore this, it comes with a cost as dusty refrigerator coils lose their efficiency and it makes the cooling process more tedious for the appliance. The good news, however, is that just five minutes of brushing or dusting on a regular basis can keep refrigerator coils spotless and ensure that they function at their efficient best, always.

Air-Conditioner: Your air-conditioner manufacturer may not be the only one to blame for the appliance’s low efficiency. An important step to ensure maximum efficiency from your air-conditioner is to regularly clean the air filter, which is attached to the front panel of the unit. When in constant use, it is recommended to clean the air filter every 10-12 days, as a congested filter can restrict free flow of clean air and hamper the air-conditioner’s effectiveness.
