When did you book your home? How does it look like?
I booked my home in May, 2015. My builder has promised that I will get possession in three and a half years. It is within 8 kms from the City Centre. It is a 1437 sq. ft. home on the 13th floor of the apartment built by the Prestige Builders, who are known for their top quality projects.

How did you find this home?
I found this house through property advisers. It was a good experience. They showed me one apartment complex and I chose the same. I found that the property was in a fantastic location. Prime location (or potential to become prime) was an important part of my decision. And, it has great facilities like a health club, swimming pool etc. Also, the price was within what I could afford.
Why did you think you needed to own a home of your own?
It is great in terms of saving on your rent. Also, it is a fantastic investment.
How much does it cost? How did you manage it?
It costs Rs 1.1 crore including registration. I have paid Rs. 20 lakh as the first installment. The purchase is self-funded.

Did you face any difficulty during the process of buying your home?
No.
Is it your dream home?
I wouldn't say it is a dream home. But, I am happy.
What is your advice to new home buyers?
Be clear about whether you are buying a new home to stay there or to rent. Be clear about the quality of your builder, whether they belong to Grade A, Grade B or C. Be clear about the locality. Also zeroing in on just one or two areas is important because your search will get diluted if you cast the net too wide. Always search for properties in areas that you know well and not in areas that you are not too familiar with. Area knowledge is important. If you are buying for investment, then buy it pre-launch. Research the market thoroughly before you buy.
