How Good Is The Air Around Your Luxury Home?

Since time immemorial, properties have acted the part of being the indicator of their owners' status symbol. As a result, when we arrive in life, we buy bigger houses, complete with rich amenities. But, times have changed, and so have the pollution levels. Even if you have invested in a luxury property, there is no guarantee you will get to breath clean air or drink clean water.
Sample this.
The results of a study conducted across 188 locations by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) show 16 locations across the state fell under the 'bad' category. These include six locations each in Mumbai and Pune and four from Raigad and Thane. Around eight locations in Raigad, Thane and Palghar came under 'bad-to-very-bad' category. The study was conducted between March and August last year.
According to the MPCB officials, untreated domestic waste is the main reason for 80 per cent pollution in Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Raigad. Apart from this, 20 per cent contribution is made by industrial effluents, a little amount of oil and natural resources.
If we paid attention to the prime localities in India's financial capital Mumbai, where property is among the most expensive in the world, pollution levels are hitting the roof. The Water Quality Index (WQI) of sea surface water at prominent location of of the city, including Nariman Point, Malabar Hill, Gateway of India, Worli Sea face, Juhu and towards the Bandra end of the Mithi River indicated high pollution levels.
It is worth mentioning here that these areas are home to the who's who of the city, and properties here are famous for their high-value tags.
