How Google Maps Can Help Attract More Buyers
Remember the days when you'd have to pull your car to the side of the road, put the blinkers on, pull down the windows and then frantically ask for directions from each passerby? In most cases, you received a confused smile or, more likely, random directions. Well, that sounds so much like the 2000s. Today, we have Google Maps to guide us. Not only has Google Maps added a sense of, literal, direction to our everyday commute, but it also helps us save time by showing us the best routes to our destinations. Now imagine, if the same service could be used for making a stronger selling point for a real estate property – wouldn't it be just more convenient? Yes, it would.
How to do it
- Log into Google Maps using your Gmail account.
- Drop a permanent pin. Google provides specific pincodes for various locations.
- Now, locate your property and click on the building/construction.
- Long press the left button. A pin like image would emerge on the desired property like in the image below.
- After dropping a pin, a task bar will drop down from the top left of Maps.
- Now, you'll see three option: Save, Nearby and Share.
- Save this location. On doing so a star appears in the place of the pin. You can also add your contact details while saving. Saving it also makes it much more readily available for those in search of real estate options, or even those who just want to locate you.
- Now, you can easily include this location link in all your real estate listings.
How does this help?
Buyer will now be able to look at your property listing easily on Google Maps and check out amenities surrounding the area. Adding the Pin/Star would help potential buyers to have an actual feel of the location and what all it has to offer in its vicinity, restaurants, movie theatres, hospitals, etc. This add up to the buying decision, as a potential buyer will have a more consolidated view of the locality.
Dropping a Pin also helps buyers to check the accurate distance from the location and, hence, gauge their average travelling time to work, airport, recreational areas, etc. Again, a plus point for people who are in search of homes. Refer to images below:
Why you should do this?
Today, potential buyer flock to the Internet to enquire about a property before actually placing a call. Given this, adding a Pin to a property that is up for grabs is important, adding pictures, description and other related details. This helps build a factually correct perception about your property in buyer's mind– something which can make or break his buying decision at an early stage.
A Pin, also gets a permanent link, which acts as a universal virtual code on the map, enabling interested buyers to directly access the location on a map without the hassle of browsing for pictures, details on a listings site.
