India 25th Best Country In The World, 3rd Fastest Moving, Says Survey
India, the largest democracy in the world, might be surprising super-powers with its unprecedented growth but it has a lot of catching up to do to inch its way up at a global survey that ranks the best countries of the world. The country has been ranked 25th in the second annual Best Countries ranking by US News & World Report, the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and global brand consultants BAV Consulting. Switzerland has topped the list, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom. The survey has positioned the United States of America at the seventh spot.
In 2017, the survey ranked 80 countries, taking feedback from 21,000 business leaders, informed elite and citizens. In the previous survey of 60 countries last year, India was ranked 22. This year, India's neighbours and competitors managed better ranking with Japan's standing at the fifth spot, Singapore at 15th and China at 20th.
The survey has ranked Pakistan at the 74th position while Serbia stands at the bottom of the list.

The fast mover
Forecasts from the World Bank predict the global economy will grow at the fastest rates it's seen since the global financial crisis for the next couple of years. And developing nations — those that are not considered high-income — are poised to grow at a rate that's almost double the global average," says the analysis while ranking India as the third fastest mover. The list is topped by the United Arab Emirates, followed by Singapore. China and Japan are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.

Centre of enlightenment
The survey has ranked India as the third best country to stay abroad. The list is topped by United Arab Emirates, followed by Singapore.

India is ranked fourth in the list of countries to start a business in and sixth in the list of best countries to invest in.

The heritage keeper
On terms of heritage, India, with 35 world heritage sites, is ranked fifth. The list if topped by Italy, with Spain and Greece ranking second and third, respectively. France occupies the fourth spot.
The high and mighty
In the list of most influential countries, India is ranked 14th. In terms of power, India is ranked 16th. The list is topped by the US, followed by Russia, China, United Kingdom, and Germany.
Quality in focus
In proving quality of life India is ranked 30. The list is topped by Canada, followed by Sweden and Denmark. Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Germany feature in the top-10 list.
