Internet Is The Best Way To Buy Property, Says this Pune-Based Home Buyer
Hrishikesh Deshpande, a management consultant in UK-based firm Rnoir Consulting, has a knack for exploring and adventure sports. An avid traveller, 27-year-old Deshpande is originally from Mumbai. In an interview with Ankit Rajdutta, he talks about this new home recently bought in Pune. Edited excerpts:
PropGuide: Describe your new home for our readers.
Deshpande: My new home is a 2BHK apartment on the third floor in Tinsel Town by Kohinoor Group, Hinjewadi, Pune. It is a garden-facing house that lets a lot of positive energy enter my space. The project is surrounded by big information technology companies such as the Infosys and TCS.
PropGuide: What made you buy a new home?
Deshpande: I had been planning to invest in some real estate project which has good growth potential. I am also planning to shift to this new home after three years.
PropGuide: How extensively did you research about this property, before investing in it? How did PropTiger help you complete this journey?
Deshpande: Basically, I did three types of research before I zeroed in on this property. I first finalised the locality, based on its future growth potential. After that, I researched about the reliability of the developer. Finally, customer reviews helped me sign up for this property. Also, PropTiger.com helped me throughout the process. The company's sales representative was able to understand my requirements and helped me accordingly by shortlisting the most relevant prospects.
PropGuide: How much did the apartment cost you? How did you manage it?
Deshpande: The total cost of the apartment is Rs 60 lakh. I and my father are getting it financed through the SBI home loan.
PropGuide: Is this your dream home or will you look for another house?
Deshpande: Frankly, I won't call it a dream home but yes it is good enough.
PropGuide: How was your online home-buying experience?
Deshpande: The experience was very good. In fact, online home-buying is the best way to buy a home, as you derive a virtual feel of the project. The pictures and the description helped me make up my mind.
PropGuide: What is your advice to new home buyers?
Deshpande: When you plan to buy your home, don't blindly go by what developers claim about their project. You can check the ground reality on online forums such as the Indian real estate forum. I would also like to say that don't go for the kind of builders that compromise on basic things like space or the livable room-size.
